Coyote/Deer my first

I walked outside a few minutes ago and saw a yearling deer standing in one of the ponds and a coyote on the bank about 10 feet away. I couldn't get to my rifle before the coyote ran off. The deer laid down in the water for a short time. She was limping on one of her back legs. The deer then walked out to the woods then came back swam across the pond and is laying in the grass. First time I ever witnessed anything like this.

Coyote will be back, have the gun ready and the deer will have a chance of recovering

Yes I keep a close eye for yotes etc. and I have a good view with from numerous windows. In this case I kept an eye on the deer and she got up about 20 minutes later and eased off in the opposite direction.
