Great feed. Been feeding it for 4 years. Deer are starting to show results now. It has one of the higher TDN's too. There is a thread somewhere if you search that shows the comparison of different proteins.
If you do a search you will find everyones opinion on protein feed. I have fed and tried different feeds and L/E is the best one I have found. Just remember, protein doesn't give you overnight success. It is expensive to feed if done right, free choice, let the deer have it and as much as they will eat when they want it. You will get the most of the bang for a buck in about 5 years, as most of your older deer have grown most of what they will grow. The fawns you have now will have the best benefit from protein, first by their mothers will be more healthy, produce more/better milk. the fawns will be eating a more consistent protein source every year when their natural browse, (food source) is lacking. when the deer have food sources elsewhere they will decrease the amount of time they feed at a protein station.
But the down side, you will be feeding many more mouths when you start feeding protein free choice. Deer will leave your neighbors to come it when times are bad. You will have a increase in the amount of deer on your property, called artificial populations due to the extra feed. Be prepared for that and you will need to keep track of the deer per acre you have and increase your harvest rates to reflect that increase in population.
Feeding protein is not just feeding protein, we feed about 80,000-100,000 pounds per year of L/E. At $400/ ton do the math.
FYI....Because of the amounts we can every couple of months, we get L/E to deliver in bulk and feed each protein feeder. By doing this, the amount per ton and delivery fees it is cheaper to get it delivered and fed in bulk than buying it by the bag and us filling each feeder....

We have been doing the same thing the last 2 years. So far we are really happy with the feed. It has saved us a lot of time and money too.
