Speckled king snake. I have seen on in 30 years or so. They used to be pretty common in the Port O'Connor area.

I relocate 40-50 snakes every year for people and have only run across one in the last 5 years. Such a beautiful and beneficial snake. Thank you for saving him.

I have seen 2 on my property in the last year. 1 was about 18" long and the other was just about 1 month ago and it was probably about 4' long. cool snake. up until this past year I have only ever seen 1 in wild in my entire life

Ran across a prairie kingsnake about a week ago. Haven't seen a speckled kingsnake yet this Summer. They're cool snakes but I don't like touching them if I don't have to. When they secrete that stuff when they get scared it's nasty.

Nice. SKS's make fun pets. Rarely bite and will eat just about anything. Good job not killing it.

I have become the "snake re-locator" in my neighborhood. I took on that job after seeing the guy next door hack a beautiful sing snake into pieces with a hoe. I get calls 6-8 times every year. It is almost always a rat snake of some kind. I'm sure there are some around, but in 18 years I have never seen a copperhead or rattler.

I saw a King snake years ago and just left it alone. I thought I might see it again since it was close to the house. Never saw it again.

There's still quite a few out on the island, we see them fairly regularly. About 6 weeks ago we showed up at fish camp to setup and 1st thing we always do is go de-snake the garage and pull the 4 wheelers out. There were two rattlesnakes and a gold speckled king snake in there. King was just chilling right next to the smaller rattler which I thought was weird. 2 of the 3 snakes died.

One of my favorite snakes to see around the house. Good for you for relocating it.
