There's a gunsmith in the chapel hill area off 64. Stone ridge maybe? Something like that. Heard good things about him but I have no personal experience.

If you are halfway a handy man, this is something you could do yourself as long as you fully understand the objective and are meticulous and take you time. There are several very good YouTube videos that takes you thru step by step. I am no expert but have done a dozen or so, including all of my custom rifles. I could visit with you on the subject and maybe address some of your questions if you decide to go that route.
