Got settled in new spot. Only moved about 70yds but its where the hot trail was. Took my time and tried to stay quiet. Hope this works out. Hoping that bruiser 10 runs that doe back through. She was borderline having a heat stroke! My son thought I shot her as she ran by him because she looked so bad lol, poor girl.

Just got moved and settled in. 30 yards from where I killed my deer in 2014. Good for north and west wind. Maybe south. Lots of good fresh sign. Some of it is on my boot.

If you accidentally drop a lemon creame nekot cookie and a deer eats it, is it considered baiting? Lol.

Airball here. Went right over his back. I was walking out early and spooked up the doe he was tending. Biggest deer Iíve seen live since I was 23. I just cared that he was legal. Definitely that. Couple grunts and I had him interested. They ended up on the other side of this little swell into a creek bottom. I was crouched and when I stood she busted me and blew. He wasnít sure what to do. I rushed a bit in recollection I shouldíve waited to see his next move as he was standing ground and seemed like a player. Small shot window and guessed the wrong distance. Hag wins again. Adrenaline was pumping miss or not.

Sounds like an awesome experience. Sorry the outcome wasnít what you had hoped for. Itís tough getting everything gathered and ranged when you arenít expecting to be in that situation.

Final tally today ... 14 deer (2 shooters, no open shots), 5 hogs (same group twice, missed a 40 yd shot low), 12 turkeys. Every single one was at full gallop moving fast, never seen anything like it! Possibly best day ever in the woods, except for the empty ice chest. Tomorrow should be even better!

Clear and cool. This morning should be fun. At least I hope it will be. I have not seen a deer in the morning in two days. Family plans this afternoon so the morning sit is it for me. Love the H!
