The CHL class will be on Saturday September 6th at 9:15am. We will meet at:

Saltgrass Steakhouse
810 I-45 North
Conroe, TX 77301



Please arrive no later than 9:15am. We will have the classroom portion and written test (25 question multiple choice/ true-false) at Saltgrass Steakhouse. Lunch and drinks will be provided at no charge.





The cost for this class is $80


We offer a $10 discount for:

Military (past or present)
Law Enforcement
Fire/EMS
Teachers.



After the classroom portion we will drive a few miles down the road for the proficiency demonstration at:

Creekwood Shooting Sports
12824 Texas 105
Conroe, TX 77304

The shooting test will consist of 50 rounds fired at the following distances.

20 rounds at 3 yards

20 rounds at 7 yards

10 rounds at 15 yards

When you come to the class please bring the following:

-Handgun of at least a .32 caliber (we have rentals available)

-1 box (50 rounds) of ammo (we have .380, 9mm, .40 and .45 available for purchase) 2 boxes is recommended in case you experience any malfunctions.

-Hearing protection (if you don't have any that's ok, we have some available at no charge)

-Eye protection (if you don't have any that's ok, we have some available at no charge)

-Drivers License





All the classroom materials will be provided.

The class including lunch and the range time will last about 6 hours. Lunch and drinks will be provided.








If you like, you can start the application process before taking the class. However, it is not required. We will go over the entire state application process during the class.

2013 brought a few changes to the CHL process. You may carry a semi-automatic handgun no matter which type of gun you qualify with. Also, passport photos are no longer required. Texas DPS will use your Drivers License photo.
