    Blue paint on trees

    What does this signify?

    Info that might help:
-There has been clear cutting in the area, but not the immediate area.

    - The marked trees are all in a straight line

-The trees are along a low spot that holds water a couple of months out of the year, but is dry for the most part.

-The line of trees runs parallel to a main waterway with about 100 yards separating the 2.

    Thoughts?

I know purple paint shows a property line, no tresspassing. As good as a POSTED sign.

Blue paint on trees in east texas used to be the marking for temple inland, which i believe is hancock timber now. its everywhere. Louisiana pacific i believe is orange paint. about two thirds of all east texas belongs to these two companies.

Shows a no cut zone most of the time. Most likely left those trees for erosion purposes.

It's a no cut zone on my lease in Red River county timber land.

Thanks, just checking. I was told by several lease members that the lease boundary was 100 ft. from the water, so I was making sure they were right. None of them knew what the blue paint meant and said that it hasnt been there long.

Boundary on the lease is blue paint.
But they use orange too on the other side of the lease. Guess they didn't know about a color code here.

Means do not cut. Either they're doing some cutting in the area, or getting rid of some invasive species. They mark the native ones, so they don't get cut down by mistake.

The state mandates that the timber co's must stay 30yds away from any waterway or creekbed for flood purposes whether it is flowing or not.

Exactly why I place my stands in the areas with blue paint on my lease. Not only do I hunt creek bottoms and acorn flats... the loggers stay away from those areas for the most part.

What does the yellow paint mean?
