Greens Gumbo!

Got me a big pot on for New Years. Mixed mustard greens, purple tops, rutabaga, and tender greens. Stock pot cooking down an adding greens as they wilt.

About 2lb of homemade hot links, 6 smoked pork chops, 1lb of bacon, couple onions, lots of garlic, quart of chicken broth, stick of butter, heavy on black pepper and a little salt. 1/2 cup brown sugar. 4 big turnips cut up on top.


We gonna feast for new years and freeze the rest!

Oh no. I'd eat it for sure. Just never seen greens fixed that way. I'd have fried the pork chops, grilled the sausage links and boiled the greens before adding a little Trappey's pepper sauce on 'em. But I'd certainly eat Greens Gumbo if that's what was for supper.


But don't get silly comparing a pot of green soup to the bbq boneless rib sandwich by which all other bbq boneless rib sandwiches are judged.
