Was talking with a buddy and it's pretty remarkable how Baylor has mastered the football rebuild. Done it 3 or so times in the last 10 years and weathered the Briles storm and all that from basically nothing the 20 years prior. Definitely not an easy task. 2021 Big 12 Football Champions and add in 2020 Men's Basketball National Championship and quite the accomplishments for BU Athletics. Well done

Lol I think his name gonna get thrown out there for every job this year. Baylor has the cash to lock him down and if they don’t throw a big contract at him to entice him to stay, gonna be their own fault. If he leaves, guess they have that rebuild formula down to go off of.

I don't know much about Zach that is not already out there. I will be spending some time with his dad's college roommate on Wednesday so hopefully I can learn more. I do know that Joey thought very highly of Zach and that was likely his #1 pick for the OC job which is a really good thing. You don't get your #1 choice many times.

Now that Patrick Toney is off the table and going to Florida with Napier, I am not sure who the DC will be. It will be interesting to see the DC hire and how Zach will complement each other. Looks like WKU threw the ball almost 70% of the time. Joey will have to find a DC that will work with an uptempo offense that is going to throw it all over the yard.

Mike Siravo is the other name out there, but they didn't think they could pull him away from the Carolina Panthers.

Kiffin has a new contract in front of him or he has signed it already, taking him to $7.5M. What is crazy is in 2020, he was making $3.9M and by the end of this year that has almost doubled. What a time to be a head college football coach.

I know that Oregon has Nike money so if they want him, money will not be an issue. If Kiffin does take Oregon, good chance that Ole Miss will promote Jeff Lebby. Lebby is rumored to be moving on to be the OC at OU.

He has rumored to have interviewed and turned down two jobs this cycle (OU and USC) which I have a hard time believing. He reached out to TCU about their opening as well. I have no idea what he is doing with his career path or what he is waiting on. He had a very senior laden team that was supposed to be in the Big 12 Championship and they failed to meet those expectations. He has been a hot candidate, but I wonder if the bloom is off that rose if he keeps "turning down" jobs or doesn't get serious about moving on.

Chip Kelly back to Oregon seems to be the favorite, which could be an opening for Aranda at UCLA.

There is a 3rd deal coming, but I have been told it is not ready to be announced just yet. Keep in mind all of these deals have to pass by the school's compliance office and be signed off on. Texas compliance office is pretty **** tough to get stuff through, so these should be iron tight. The schools themselves can not have any involvement or start these deals so they are all have to be donor driven from conception to final plan.

To play the devil's advocate, hopefully they an get all positions group up and running so Texas does not run into a locker room issue with some guys getting paid and some not. It also puts a question into my mind if this helps Texas get the right type of kid or is this a kid only interested in getting paid. Like I have said every time this comes up, this will not make the issues at Texas go away. I do like that it is finally showing signs of Texas being the "big bad bully" that everyone makes Texas out to be.

I have the same concerns and I'm sure some will pick Texas for that reason.

On the flip side, I think it will now be very apparent if you didn't to Texas for the right reasons. If all you want to do it party of 6th street and you're a dumb kid with 100k in you pocket, everyone is going to know about it. You can cut ties after 1 year and replace them with someone that does want to be there.

We're going to give all of them more than enough rope to hang themselves with and then see if they are mature enough to handle it.

Nobody is doing anything close on the legit side of things. A 4 year scholarship OL stands to make 600k with some starters breaking 7 figures.

I lost my mind in college when I hit $500 on video poker or a thousand bucks or so at a fishing tournament! I couldn’t imagine having $50k or more as a college student!! There would have to be an intervention or something!

Lol agree. Im all for the kids getting something but these figures nationwide are crazy. Hell even Quinn Ewers making over a million and never playing a down is crazy. To think that his NIL deal actually made a sponsor that much or more money in return vs. it just being a legit way for universities to pay players thru alum, would be a good study lol. I was a big fan of capping it at a certain number each year or semester. Maybe $10k max per semester. I was in college once lol $10k a semester of play money woulda been insane and dangerous. $50k is just unnecessary.
