My FIL said the same thing about Eastland Co. When the peanut field flooded he said the sky turned black with birds. Didn't even need a hide. Wait for a group to work and blast away. Wait a couple minutes and the birds would be back screaming into the peanuts.

Yes, and Lake Proctor was on fire back then. Nada ladda nowadays.

The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

We were more or less trophy hunting looking for a stud to put on the wall. But usually with divers that we kill on the coast I just fillet them into thin strips and make jerky

I miss hunting that place. That would be a trophy strap for us back when we used to hunt there. All we ever really got back in the day was mallards and woodducks.

I am pulling out old boxes of ammo and using them up so I guess in a way its a good thing. I still have a case of new rounds from last year so should be good for next year if things don't change. I hope to pick up a couple cases this Summer.

Got skunked our last hunt also. Going to finish out the year with a few days at the coast with friends and then head to hunt with Family for the closer. Finally getting a few birds at both places from recent reports.
