Obsidian and flint score

I picked these rocks up at an auction. I love rocks. They said they are rootbeer flint and obsidian. They are pretty big. I put a tennis ball in for reference. I cut my hand on the obsidian taking the picture.

top picture looks like lace obsidian and the second picture looks like black obsidian. I don't see any root beer flint in the mix. Would makes some nice arrowheads and knife blades for sure.

You are probably right. That is what I heard and they didn't know anything about rocks. It wasn't a rock auction, it was a junk auction.

Dang brother. You should have come to me. I could have sold you some rocks. All you wanted. Probably wouldn't be chert or obsidian though. And fresh out of the creek or dirt.
