Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev was a Russian and former Soviet politician. The eighth and final leader of the Soviet Union, he was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1985 until 1991

They are not sure if poopy Putin is going to re ognize him with a state funeral. After Gorbachev instituted the idea of “ glastnost” (sp) 11 Russian republics declared their independence. Thus the end of the USSR as it was known and the begging of Putins scheme to reestablish the old Soviet era empire.

He was a professor here in the US for a long time.

He was a reformist and actually brought the Soviet Union out from behind the iron curtain, ended the Cold War and broke apart the Soviet Union ( not intentional). I’m not going to say he was a good guy, but he was a much better leader than all of the other Soviet’s.

He was a full blown commie for decade at one point in his career he was the head of propaganda. Had he lived he coulda had a bright future with our current administration.
