I have to start saying this kid impresses me everyday. We set out for our first deer last year and whether it was nerves or just really not understanding shot placement my boy, with a large 9 point in his scope, set back from his gun and told me he wasn’t ready to shoot this year. You know what no problem and that’s maturity and ethics many adults lack. This year has been different and he was ready!! We got our real deer target so he would be confident in placement and one shot told us right away it was our year. We got out yesterday and right away we were on deer and the first mature deer that came in he was set on being his. When the deer turned I gave the ok and he settled and squeezed a textbook shot and the kid didn’t have a shake until the deer was on the ground. You couldn’t make me a more proud dad!!
