I am reading an old classic, really enjoy it. A little overwhelming at times and I must set it down and ponder.

It’s called Signals. Tim Gautreaux. He won a Southern states award for this book years ago. I found it at the library a few years ago. It’s some Krazy short stories by a coon ax that is known for his novels. I’m reading it again. It’s funny and has some biblical under tones.

It was recommended by several people on here. Very good book. Some details are hard to read, especially if you have kids. The narrative of the Comanches being this great and noble group gets flipped on its head a bit.

You should get and read "before the stories are lost" its about poaching deer on the king ranch and its got some history of the king and kennedy ranches that didnt make it to the history books, just things passed down from from elders. Im reading it now its interesting.

Tried to read it a million times. Finally got through it with a pure understanding after going through it with the “Bible in a Year” podcast with Father Mike. They’ve lined it out chronologically with reading a few books at a time that occur during the same period. Each short episode is followed by an explanation and prayer. Having a seasoned theologian explain some of the verbiage used and interpret some of the strange parts, made it much easier to comprehend. I always wanted to read the Bible but came away with more questions than answers and wished there was someone there who could explain what some things meant; this was what I was looking for.

I hope someone else can get from it what I did.
