I'm sure I can dig up their policy but wanted to get real world data here, anyone know what the turnaround time is to get a CDS dial back from Leupold after sending in the data? I'm sort of in a time sensitive situation and that may effect my scope purchasing options.

Not too difficult to make your own if you get in a bind time wise.

2 week turn around has been my experience and I have several of them.
Regarding your zero setting, it really depends on your caliber. On my 7mm RUM for example, my zero is set at 300 yards. I don't need a dial for anything inside of that and rarely shoot inside 300 yards with that rifle.
My 243 is at 200 yard zero and my 220 Swift is at 300 yard zero.
