I’ve never done rafters. Giving it a go this morning. Found this incredibly useful

Laid it out on the workshop floor. Spot on [emoji41]. One thing he doesn’t mention I learned as a helper when I was young- mark your pattern and use that as your template. Otherwise 1/16th every rafter adds up. Goes for anything you are cutting

              Rafters and some siding

That took all day Saturday. Hard working by yourself. All I did was paint today. Got a 1st coat on the swingset and the inside before I ran out of paint

Beer break for me, update for y’all. I’m off every other Friday, which means I worked harder today since I was off

Last night I got a second coat of paint on the inside and the swing. 1st coat on the outside. Was hoping it would only need one but oh well. This view is from the porch of my workshop. Close enough I can keep an eye on her

Started today putting up tin. I have been very fortunate with the weather window since I started this. I think that may run out tomorrow but I’m not worried anymore

I also installed the upper windows temporarily. I wanted to see the look and that will keep most of the rain out.

I need to start laying out the deck next.

There will be a window unit. Just not insulated. Goal is to keep it safe/tolerable during summer. Where I left it last night

Saturday and Sunday weren’t too productive. Had some other obligations and the rain shut me down early Saturday.

                              Deck framed up

Recruited some cleanup help from the foreman. Didn’t last long.

Framed out the loft and test fit a sheet of plywood
