It is time again ladies and gents for our or 5th annual thread. We take anyone that thinks they belong in our fine area. We will even include southwest Oklahoma. We all need to pray for rains.
I don't have any pics or anything to share from this summer. We haven't started up our feeders yet. Post up your favorite live or dead animal, sunset, sunrise, camp fire or what ever pictures. This is still my favorite picture. We have a blind on a tank **** facing east. I stepped out to leave and it took me awhile to figure out what I was looking at. Best of luck to all this year! |

Finally had some free days last week at ranch to run jug lines and had some success. Three flat heads and three blues. This was the biggest !

Thank you sir. That’s just six out of the ten grandkids I’ve got. Tank fishing out at the lease is always a great time for the kids and they get a great introduction into what it’s like to catch, kill and eat their own food.

Got a few good ones on camera but we really need a downpour like the metroplex got. Tanks look horrible and food plots are gonna be out of the question without some rain.

Taking this Ttt. I guess all the animals have melted or left the area. Not many folks chiming in so far! Things should pick up next week when dove bird season starts.
We are all headed out next weekend to get feeders working and filled. Blinds fixed and cleaned out. The cow ear tag thing worked like a charm last year to keep wasp out of the blinds. We will clean up around camp and be ready to roll in October. |

Was headed out tomorrow AM for dove (none there) and blind/feeder work but 3" of rain is gonna make for a postponement. Don't wanna be hauling a load in on those roads just yet but darn thankful for the rain these last 10 days or so! Hallelujah
Deer look healthy but I have yet to see any good horns on cam. Saw two nice bachelor groups last weekend and there was a few nice deer included. 10-12 bucks between both groups. Fawn crop poor, hearing 5-10% around the area but I saw a couple in a quick loop around the place. Seeing two on one cam regularly and mommas look healthy. Bucks still in full velvet and just waiting to see something special come across. Gonna have some brittle bucks breaking tines come November. Hope it's a memorable season for all! ac |

Went out this weekend to dove hunt, fill feeders, and pull camera cards. Two of of three activities were a success. Feeders got filled. Camera cards got pulled. Not so much dove hunting. I took two shots. I slept in this morning, naturally the hunters limited out. Oh well, i'll trade the sleep for some doves. At least i didn't have to clean birds. Pics below are some of the highlights of the card pulls. The little freak has us excited over what might be in 4 or 5 years. Time will tell the tale.

I went out for the first time since January. Spent most my time cleaning up camp in preparation to mow and weed eat.
I didn't even take a shot gun. I never saw one bird on a wire or flying by. I did get one camera up and running. We do have atleast one buck deer! ![]() Sent from my SM-A526U using Tapatalk |

We’re starting to get some pictures of some bucks we know from last year, and the growth is very encouraging. We were very lucky with some localized rain just west of Graham, so it doesn’t look like the deer suffered too much. They all look pretty fat and slick.

The dove are here! Wichita Falls. hunted north of Air Force Base this am. We had all of 50 guns and if you didnt limit it was totally on the shooter.
Limited by 8:30 and started banging at ~7:45. Best dove shoot i've ever had. |

![]() I think un-officially it’s whoever is careless enough with their reputation to associate with the likes of Big Dave, Roger, Billy, and myself. Big Dave is in charge and I don’t really think he gives a ****. ![]() On the map it’s Jack, Young, Palo Pinto, Stephens, Throckmorton, Archer, Childress, Wilbarger, Wichita, and any inside those…maybe Hall, King, Montague? Haskell, Stonewall? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Last edited by Dale Moser; 09-09-2022 at 09:59 PM. |

We filled all the feeders a couple weeks ago ( I say we, all I did was pay for the feed, the boys did the rest ) got a few pictures of some 2-3 year olds, they look pretty good, we have recovered from the horrible draught we went through, last year we finally had age groups up to 5-6 year olds. Boys are there now, no dove, they paid to hunt over by Holiday this morning, using dry creek outfitters, he has a bunch of dove from what i am told. They are going to check our other place in Foard County this evening, usually some birds there to shoot at.

Montague Co is all greened up. I’m firmly back in mowing and trimming mode at our little ranch. Ready to put all my focus on hunting season. Haven’t been running cameras for months due to some technical issues, so not entirely certain how the herd is looking right now. Ive only taken one buck in the six years I’ve had the place. Bow hunting only. I hope to fill a tag early this season. Good luck to y’all. Will be following along.

Filled up our feeder 3 weeks ago (northern Erath County). Extremely dry and grazed down from the owners cows that had been sold off due to the drought. Lots of hogs, just like every season. Went hog hunting on 9-3 and had to wade across our creek on the way to my blind. It was a beautiful thing to see water filling up the deep holes in the creek and put a little water in the stock tanks around us.

Dove hunting around Wichita Falls has been far better than the last 3-5 years, got a few good looking bucks on camera I'll try to upload some pics later. Definitely the time of year to get excited about a few and then never see them again till next summer lol , waiting on October 1st and hoping this little bit of cooler weather will stick around!

If you were going to do a small throw and grow plot what would you toss out? Thinking of gulf rye and maybe just mix a bag or two of the no till mix.
I’ve got a few areas with bare dirt and should be able to find something to drag it with before and after. What would you mix and throw out? 2-3 acres. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

At our place we have two landowners owners and our property is divided by a farm to market road. We have 300 acres of wheat on our 1800 acre side. One field is 45 acres and directly across the FM road from our 600 acre side and a 80 acre oat field. Our observations have been in early season they like them both equally. Later on when it gets cold, the pasture is dead and the rut is over they prefer the oats. We have tried rye grass in 1-2 acre spots way in the back away from our other fields and it never came up. I would go oats on a 2-3 acre spot |
