We are thinking of heading to Arkansas for Spring Break.. My wife and kids have never been and I have only been to Ft. Smith. I am looking for recommendations on where to go. Looking for trout fishing, preferably right out the back door of where we stay. Also looking for hiking, atv trails, and nice small town for my wife to go walk and shop.

we have been to Hot Spring Village several times. It is a gated community just outside of Hot Springs. The village have a bunch of golf courses and too many lakes to remember the number. Little Rock is about a forty minute drive where there is the Clinton Presidential Library. We rented a house on one of the lakes in the Village. We fished and played a lot of golf. There are restaurants inside also. We are looking at retiring there in a few years.

Gaston is a good place to eat but Cranors is far better for fishing. There is a reason bill dance fishes with Donald Cranor multiple times a year. If you have Instagram, check them out. They have been on monster browns
There are several vrbo places on the White. I can find the place we used on the last trip when I get home next week. My son and I caught rainbows off the dock till we got bored. BUT, we literally used 4x4 to get to and from the house each time we left

Gosh, so many options....
I've floated the Quachita and the Cossatot....big fun.
Trout fishing the Lil' Red is a blast.
As mentioned above, Hot Springs Village is great if you want to stay in nice accommodations and play golf, etc. All the courses are pretty good with a couple that are outstanding.
The Mena area is really nice to camp, hike, etc
The best thing is all of those options are relatively cheap. I'm sure there are many other areas I'm not thinking of or aware of....

Gastons is would be fun for trout fishing for a few nights.
Lots to do in Northwest Arkansas, Chrystal Bridges, Bentonville Square, see who's plying the AMP(if its opened back up) Eureka nearby. Fayetteville nightlife on Dixon Street, check out the campus/stadiums etc.
If your going through Hot Springs the horse races are a good time. Oaklawn has turned into one of the premier tracks in the US.
