    200" of Bone...

Unfortunately, it isn't one deer by me. Fortunately, my oldest stepson and youngest son both got their first bucks this past week with me guiding them. It is honestly more rewarding to be with them for their first bucks than to shoot a big one myself. They have both put in a ton of work filling feeders, setting up stands and doing ranch work and they finally got their rewards. Both have hunted long and hard for their first buck with many ups and downs. A ton of being told he is too small or he is too big along the way. To explain the too big, I'm a firm believer in working your way up and going by the "Is he bigger than your last buck" philosophy for their first few bucks so I wanted deer that will allow them to work their way up. There isn't a whole lot of back story to either buck, we were just in the right stand at the right time. I did post these in my ranch thread but I thought these 2 kids and deer deserved their own thread. The first set of pics is my son and his deer and the second set of pics is my step son and his deer.

Great memories for you and your boys. Got some that look exactly the same from 20 years ago.

Heck yeah, sounds like they earned those deer. That's two nice bucks and a good place to start up from. Congratulations to the young men!
