Does the new model from TSC “have” to use a boat battery?
The mode I replaced used a 7ahr 12v feeder battery.

I was powering the new one with the same size battery and it just “quit” today. [emoji2371]
Installed it 2 months ago and was working with no concerns.
What have your experiences been with these openers?

I have the MM771 and used the batteries made for it and have had zero problems. I went ahead and installed two batteries in the box just to raise the amps.

The older model had space for 2 batteries in the box and I thought it was strange that the new model didn’t have any space for batteries. [emoji848]

I think I’ve figured out the problem, the charge transformer is not putting out enough voltage to charge the feeder batteries.
I’m picking up a marine battery in the morning.
The book says it requires a minimum of 250 cca to power the new model.

If it don’t have the space for the batteries it most likely requires a deep cycle

I use a lawnmower battery. saves some money and been going almost 4 yrs now
