My grandson Ethan (just turned 8) has finally joined our ranks as a deer hunter!
He's taken a few hogs but no deer til Sunday.
Took his 1st deer ever with a crossbow.
25 yd shot, 35 yd recovery. Did it all on his own. Cool as a cucumber til after the shot. And it really hit him when we walked up on it (it crashed 10 yds behind the ground blind).
Man was he/we excited !
Not the biggest buck in the woods but it's a start and I'm proud of/for him.
He's stacking arrows with his compound at 15 yds. Pretty sure he'll be toting it next year!
