My wife got on a buck she wanted to kill. She has killed a few doe and has been hell on hogs and turkeys but for whatever reason she has found a reason to not shoot every buck she has encountered.
That ended last week of Oct, she had this old buck in but he wouldn’t get into her VERY specific position, she is ultra conservative and won’t shoot past 20 and only at calm quartering away animals.
We had never gotten a pic of this deer but when she pulled her camera card we found that he had been regular there for near 2 weeks.
She had 2 more encounters with him that weekend but no shots fired.
Fast forward last night, we rolled into camp late but she committed to a rare morning hunt but he was a no show this morning despite still being pretty regular on camera.
This afternoon we all got on stand around 3pm and at 4:30 I had a text of “buck down”.
Shortly after I get this pic
And that’s always a great start to a bow hunting blood trail!
By score he is a trophy by no means but by age and body size I think he is a better trophy than a 150” deer!
