I posted a few days ago about a possible pinched nerve in my neck. After trying to get an appointment soon I found a neurosurgeon with an opening this morning in Houston. I had an MRI done last night in Houston, and drove back this morning to see the doc.
After just a few seconds of listening to my symptoms and looking at the MRI's, the doc dropped a bomb on me. I have a 12mm by 7mm tumor growing on my c7 vertebrae. I am waiting to have further MRI's done right now, and see the doc about scheduling surgery to remove it next week via "cervical thoracic laminectomy". At the age of 26, I was absolutely not expecting anything like this. I figured inflamed muscle or a bulging disc. Doc says it doesn't look like cancer, but won't know till its out. If it is around the nerve he can cut around it, but if it's entangled in it, he will have to cut the nerve and I will be left with permanent loss of feeling and strength of fingers on my right hand.
If you get a second, please say a prayer for me, and more importantly for my family and girlfriend who are going to worry to death about this. The last few hours have been a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions going through my head. I feel like I'm a pretty strong man, but I know the power of prayer and I could use some help guys.
