Pretty big difference, I had a big 8 show up yesterday that made all the other bucks look small so I get it.

We used to hunt in Concho county, and it was like we had 2 different types of deer. The ranch guy called one a Hill country deer, which was a grey color, smaller bodied, bigger horns. Then he called the other ones Range deer. Those were more red, bigger bodied, but smaller horns. We killed 2 bucks the same morning one day, and it was one of each. Their jaw bones showed the same age, but one was an inch longer than the other one. They were probably 30 lbs different, and the "hill country" deer had 25" on the "Range" deer.

We have the same thing in Corsicana. We have some that are really grey and some that are really red. I have not noticed any difference in size on them though.

                      Thanks!

Now that I have a feed pen set up I would like to shorten the legs and make it a stand and fill.

Excellent example for a point of reference.
