Looking to soak some old gun parts in a liquid solvent. Looked online for Varsol, but couldn't find any. Looks like Tractor Supply has something similar, but in a 5 gallon container. Definitely don't need that much. Looking for other recommendations from an TBHers in the know. Probably need a quart, but no more than a gallon. Please let me know if you've got any recommendations.

How much of a hurry are you in?
I can get you a quart.
Everytime dad would run out of varsol, we would switch to Kerosene.
This was for cleaning granite though not gun parts. -
Wow Varsol. I haven’t seen that in over 20 years. Used to use it all the time back in the 80s.

My mechanic neighbor dumps crown paint thinner in his parts washer. Still calls it varsol

You can buy “parts cleaner” at Napa etc. in 5 gallon cans for parts washers. Hard to find true varsolComment
