He made a pass through but never jumped in the pen. Something had them skittish.....I had deer feeding all afternoon until he came in, then everything bolted.

We will give it another go in the morning.

So moving a big blind is less impactful than running an arrow through one hog?

I would have shot the hog before I ever moved a K-Man blind that close.

Hope the gamble works out for you, good luck

These are a game changer and are pretty quiet. The constant hum doesnít bother the deer at all, even at 10 yards.

Man, that's what I was thinking... Guarantee you if I did that for the target buck I'm after, he'd be looooong gone... Heck I had him coming in last year every morning and evening, then mowed inside the pen... That was Labor Day... He didn't come back in that pen until after Christmas!!

I'd get me a wrist rocket and some steel balls or lead balls for those hogs. That'd be even less intrusive than an arra, though admittedly not as much fun!
Good luck 8Pointer in the morning... I'll be checkin in after church for the LDP's!!

Can anyone send a link to that Ryobi fan?

Good luck tomorrow 8Pointer. Bold move, but I’m sure you guys have plenty of reason behind it. Hope it ends in success.

Your Googler doesn't work? Just type in "Ryobi battery fan". Easy, peasy.

Amazon has 'em... for fifty something bucks... I just ordered the DeWalt version because I have a bunch of DeWalt tools and batteries... more flexibility that way... Sat last weekend in my new Krivoman blind and it was nice in the mornings, but couldn't handle the afternoons... I'm hoping this fan will make it tolerable...

I found the fan alone at Home Depot for $30 or $40. I had Ryobi tools already, but now only have the fan. This fan rocks.

Late update:
I was covered up all morning. Had a very close encounter and I thought it was going to happen. He locked up behind the brush at 45 yds, then turned and walked away. I uploaded the encounter on YouTube so I could post it.

Default South Texas buck (Take 2)

Itís hard heading home, being so close to getting it done with this buck. 4 total sits and saw him on all four hunts. Giving the spot some time to rest and no added pressure will be good. Iíll be back in a few weeks to pick up right where we left off on this buck.

There's no way I could hold off 2 weeks before going after him again... I'd have 3 coverts covering my shooting lanes and the minuted he did the same thing 2 days in a row, I'd be there!! Need to get him before he gets broke up. He's a beautiful buck and anything that he breaks off will be a shame...

Awesome buck, sorry you weren't able to get him this time but the anticipation will just make it sweeter when you do. Looks like he was a little leery of the new blind. A few weeks of it being there with no activity ought to help him get used to it.

Lol! I hear ya.... trust me, I would if I could. Iím having to work around other peopleís schedule for
this hunt..... thatís the only reason for spacing between hunts. Also played a little in affect with us rolling the dice and getting aggressive to try getting this deer killed.

At least Iím lucky to have my primary lease to go hunt in the meantime.

Ouch. It always seems to work out that way. You leave, they come in on a string. He definitely seems to be locked on to the feeder, so I bet you get your chance on your next trip. Best of luck!

Just a suggestion, I'd use bolt cutters and clip the top two squares of panel up and down for a 15' stretch in front of your shooting window and bend the top two rows of panel over when hunting, then they can be pushed back up after you are finished and wired back. Hope that makes sense but it might allow more shot opportunities if he were closer to the blind and not clearing top of panels.

Yup we are definitely cutting at least another square down.

We had already trimmed a square but I agree that we will need to do an additional square. See pic that I took from the blind after one square trimmed.

The hunt picks back up this Friday afternoon!!!

Just to catch everyone up:

The buck has changed feeding patterns and relocated to a new pen. Had us a little uneasy as he missed 2 days coming in, after being there every morning and afternoon.

Jeremy went to the ranch Saturday and moved cameras around and found which pen heís been coming to. Sunday, he set up another Krivoman blind and he was there that afternoon. New blind is set 19 yds to the pen and 27 yds to the feeder. I will be in that blind Friday afternoon! This week is going to drag.
