Default Shoot or no shoot?

Ok guys, this guy here is showing up on my buddies place down by Gladewater.

This is the second year he’s shown up, looking pretty much the same as last year. So would y’all say he’s a shooter or not because his beams are not outside his ears.

He thinks no, because of no spread outside the ears, but if this guy showed up on a place out in central TX I think he’d be taken out as management.

So for y’all who are more knowledgeable about this what say you.

For the record, my friend would like to take this one out because he knows he isn’t going to get any better.

Agreed! I’m not touching him & would be excited to watch him grow - then stick him.

I want to see pics of him last year. Are you sure it’s the same deer? He won’t make 13” in my opinion.

I have a place in Starville. I would let him walk everyday and twice on Sunday.

That deer is easily 3.5 and has absolutely zero potential. He should die. If he had more potential I'd wait another year to see what happens.

Looks like a 2.5 YO 10pt that doesn’t meet AR 13” rule and needs 2-3 more years to me.

Shouldn’t even be a question

Thanks to all of you. I will pass on the opinions y’all have posted.

He didn’t save any of last years pics, but I do remember seeing him then. Not much has changed in his appearance.

After seeing what y’all have said he will probably be very inclined to give him a pass.

way too young, even in central or south Texas he should get a pass. and if he grows tall instead of out then you might get to see what an 8-9 year buck looks like

Very young and to have all that head gear is pretty impressive, I'd let him walk like others have said for atleast 2 more years.

Give that deer 2 more years and he probably won’t even recognized him. I believe when he matures, he will blow up. You said he showed up just last year, then he may just be a 2 year old.

illegal, Let him walk. Spread must be 13" or wider. Outside the ears is a good indicator. This buck can cost you bigtime and ruin your season! Take a Doe.

Sure

It will only cost you about $3000 in fines and court costs AND the deer will be confiscated and you will get nada

That deer is illegal in AR county (everything around Gladewater is AR)

IF it is MLD then it don't matter, but if it was MLD he would not be asking

He needs 4 more years. Why shoot him? Are the deer exceeding carrying capacity of the property?
