Kade was covered up in deer 30 min before dark.
He passed on a decent 8. Had a spike and 8 does in the corn field.

I didn’t see anything else after the 8 point came thru.

Settled in.
Today we are hunting separate properties. I dropped Kade off this morning at the set we hung yesterday where the buck run the doe right on top of us.
I grabbed my climber and hit a different property that we haven't been on yet. Slipped in before daylight and found a tree.

Kade has already had 2 does come down the edge of the bean field he is hunting on.

No deer for me yet, but I did bump one while walking in earlier.

35 degrees right now. Supposed to warm up to 62. Got another front coming in Tomorrow night.

I'm sitting on a big draw that falls off the edge of a bean field to a big pond. Very similar to my set I hunted yesterday, just a little more open timber.

Had some guys come to fish in the pond.

Kade just had a small 9 walk under his stand.

I'm set up on the edge of a cedar thicket now. Lots of good rubs and scrapes here.

Kade had deer & human traffic the last few hrs.
I'm headed to pick him up. Grab a bite to eat and change sets.

It's warmed up quiet a bit.
Hope that doesn't slow down movement this evening.

Well, we got 2 more sets hung.

Dropped Kade off at the Alfalfa field and I drove 20 miles to another property we haven’t hunted with climber in hand.
I’m sitting in one fo the prettiest creek bottoms we’ve hunted so far with a cut bean field to my South.
Got a South wind blowing into the field and I’m in a tree where 5 different trails meet and cross the creek.

Lots of deer sign here. We’ll see what happens.

Zero service this morning.

Saw a young 8 locked down with a doe while coming out of the woods.
Public land is getting a lot of pressure this weekend from the locals.
We are making move now to different properties.
Maybe midday movement will be better than this morning.

That wasn't an accident. I've been off since Tuesday. Didn't want to get here too early and blow my does out before the big boys get to cruising. We'll see if it works, just took our exit, bout an hour to go.

What all did you have to buy license-wise to hunt in Kansas? I have a buddy that lives up there that invites me all the time to go hunt up there. I would be using a gun instead of bow since I suck with the bow.

Combines rolled up about 1:00 to cut the bean field so I exited and headed to another property we scouted in October.

I'm set up on the edge of a creek bank on the edge of a pasture. Huge ridge to my South and a heavily traveled trail along the creek.

South Wind is blowing into the pasture. Hoping I can catch a good one traveling the ridge or the creek.

When I got settled in my climber I looked down and saw this sucker getting some sun. He must know the cold front is coming and is trying to get what he can out of this warm day.

Just a NR license, which I think s just under a $100. But you won't be able to deer hunt, not this year anyways, because Ks is a draw state and there are no left over tags. Then, next April, you can put in for the draw. Then, if you draw a deer tag, that will cost you around $450 plus the hunting license.

You have to purchase a non-resident hunting license and put in for a non-resident rifle tag for whatever Unit your buddy lives. It's a lottery draw. If you don't draw, they refund you your money, minus a fee.
Your tag had to be season specific. Archery, Muzzle Loader or Rifle.

Well, ****. $450 seems high for a deer tag. Then again, I don’t know what other states cost for NR tags.

Y'all are Killing Me. I am headed to Unit 11 on Saturday the 16th. Just hope the weather holds and the Bucks are moving.

We got to our farm about 1:30, unpacked, sweetened a few sets and was in a tree at 2:45... I didn't sit down or put my bow on the hangar until 4:21, where it hung for 27 mins then was in my hand the rest of the evening. I had deer on me all evening. 13 total, 7 bucks, 1 sure enough shooter that was within 70 yards, at one time 22, for an HR and 20 mins (150's 8), and another that I needed a better look at, and 5 nice bucks. The kind of hunt you dream of.

Just pulled up to the big pretty creek bottom I hunted a few evenings back.
Front is coming in strong with 20-30 MPH wind, a little bit of precipitation and 50% chance of snow at 10:00 AM.
I’ll be up in a tree at daylight, pending weather conditions.

We're still sitting in camp, gonna go get in the stand when the weather blows thru. I've got 2 full weeks to get it done, and looks like the weather is going to be perfect after this mornings spell. Deer should be hunkered down thru this mess, so I am too.

Just had a small buck cruising thru the timber across the creek.

Kade is having a good hunt. Lots of movement on the private property.

Deer movement has slowed down. But I can assure you the wind hasn’t.
Glad I don’t struggle with motion sickness or I’d have a mess at the base of this tree I’m in.
