All his spots could be classified as such! Lol

Just be weary. Idk if youíre native Texan but he tries to run those types over. Or, we just pull out in front of him. Maybe the latter of those two scenarios is more truthful... hahaha

Man those are some awesome bucks antlers boy! Looking forward to seeing your hands on one of them!

Im definitely down to get together one night in town. Been solo hunting for over a week now. Awesome weather couldn't ask for anything better but had my a** kicked the past two days. Logged over 19 hrs in the stand and only saw two deer and they were way off across the creek as I was switching stands in the middle of the day. Small 8 buck chasing a doe. My place is covered up in young deer this year and the older bucks I've seen have all been cull bucks really except for that solid 8 point I posted.

That many hours in the cold in a climber wears you down. Not even sure what the game plan is for next cpl days but can't kill them if you aren't in the woods I guess!

Looking forward to seeing some deer go down this week! Good luck!

Rough day in the stand. Somewhere between s}{!+ and itís cold! Slow morning hunted wrong side of mountain...stupid. I was the only retard on north facing slop. Swapped to a south facing ridge and activity picked up greatly. Still not one I was looking for. Did have a good 10 roll through right before dark. Heíll be in trouble in a year or two.Name: IMG_2027.jpg

I'm down for Thursday. Hunted all day again and only saw one doe and she blew me hahah .

Think I'm gonna go cross eyed from lack of seeing deer and it was like 18 degrees this morning .

A bit frustrated with the property I lease and the landowner. May be looking for something else next year. Majority of the property is not accessible and he will not let me use his property to access so no hunting the south facing slopes that are loaded with acorns for me. He has a lot of dumb rules that don't line up with what I am paying per acre. I Overpay a ton!

Its a shame tho bc the woods are beautiful and there are some old bucks

We are seeing a lot of deer but mostly does and young bucks. I started getting mature buck pics the week of muzzleloader but they have ceased. Been freezing our tails off hunting this cold front and waiting for an olí freak nasty to show up. According to that Blood Moon App, the next three afternoons should be money. Sitting in front of wood stove drinking Black Rifle coffee hoping to hear the leaves crunching my way in a few hours. Good luck!

Not much happened for me the last few days. Had very minimal movement and cameras went cold. Did have this guy show up for a couple days then not again after I got there.

That sucks! It’s a blessing in disguise though. I shot a nice ten point in black powder season. Having issues with photos though. Was my #2 target buck. Ended up a little smaller than expected once I ground checked it but I’m happy. Planning on hunting hard during rifle season. Heading up Friday at some point

I saw a fork horn Saturday evening. Watched him feed on the corn for ten minutes and then ease back into the woods. He was at 8 yards but wasn't what I was looking for.

I anticipate the activity this upcoming weekend and next week will be better than last week.
The moon had them up early AM, before shooting light. Didnít need a light walking to my stand.
I hunted two days during the middle of the day. Had a few pass by around 2pm. There were a few deer spotted moving around at noon as well. Evening hunts were terrible for me.

Nice Buck. Glad someone laid one down. Bribed my wife to let me hunt this weekend. Hopefully there is more movement than last week. Does are back to hitting feeders on morning/afternoon routine. Thinking of hunting right outside bedding areas again. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Extremely slow weekend for us considering the nice weather. Saw 4-5 young bucks, didnít hear many shots either.

Anyone else not get Verizon cell service out there? I usually get a decent signal, but couldnít get anything at all this weekend.

Gents, been having a blast bow hunting the Atoka and Springtown WMAs. I’m seeing deer and some small bucks. I have a question: do you generally hunt the wind blown side of a ridge or saddle or the other side, or will deer work both sides of the ridge? Most of my hunting has been in saddles, but I’d like to set up on some ridges. Any help would be much appreciated. This land is a lot different and a heck of a lot prettier than what I’m used to hunting.

I personally hunt backside of wind. In my experience most of deer beds I see are on backside of hill close to top where they can see down hill and smell anything coming over behind them. Makes for tough hunt either way.

No such thing as a cull. Ha. More like do we need him to make it another year, is he going to do anything for us, is he going to grow into something we really want to kill?

Like this 2/3 year old deer. Straight 12 with kickers. Do we shoot him?, hell no give him 3/4 years. Name: IMG_2042.jpg
Views: 271
Size: 92.6 KB. But take this deer, is he a cull. Well yes heís not a deer that going to do anything and heís old as dirt. Kill him.

All that being said I think shooting anything before 5 years old is dumb. Deer do crazy stuff every year. There are several people on this site that have seen some of the deer Iím NOT shooting this year because they got hurt or had a bad year. Not trying to sound like a trophy hunter but after watching these deer for so many years Iíd like to kill them on a good year.

Kwayne majority of us havenít seen deer activity since the second week of November.
Iím wishful their patterns will change this week. Does have been chased and are likely holding tight in thick cover and the bucks close by. Once breeding is over the bucks should be on acorns as AntlersBoy had mentioned.
Based on the previous sessions, late December and January you can count on them coming back to corn.

It seems like the deer were more active at corn this past weekend. Better than the previous month anyways. So, Iíd imagine it should only get better this weekend.

Well been in stand for last week, movement has sucked to say the least. Thought Iíd check in and see how everyone else was doing. Looks like you guys been getting the same kick in the balls. Someone asked about snow I have several hundred acres a little west of snow, donít spend much time up there, tough hunting but pretty good genetics.
