Default Advice ?

Ok just shot a big 8 . Heard a nice whack he kicked and ran. About 20 seconds later he circled around from behind a cedar about 40 yards out he is moving really slow and kinda limping . I was really excited so I shot over him the second time . He slowly walked about 30 yards and stood there . Couldnt get a shot caus he was on the other side of several cedars . I watched him for a couple minutes he was just standing there looking around . Then he walked a few feet stopped looked around then slowly walked behind some cedars. Iím gonna wait 15-30 minutes before I go anywhere. What yíall think

Give it an hour at the least. It's cool enough outside.
Goodluck and waiting on pics

2 hours is my opinion. You can never wait too long. But you can always say “I shoulda waited longer!”

May have hit him a little farther back and caught stomach/liver/gut. Give him time. Did you get a pass thru? Arrow will tell you a lot!

This right here. Many times after they lay down and you bump them, the blood has clotted or leaves and dirt stick to the wound and it stops leaving a blood trail.

Jmo, I'd wait at least 1-1/2 -2 hrs.

Wait. If he didn't go down obviously it isn't a double lung or heart shot so you need to act accordingly.

A “whack” sounds like bone, a “thump” is what you’re looking for. Hopefully it was rib and you got lungs. Good luck !

I don't know your area well, but here's a link to a list from a couple of years ago. I see one Basque County and one "Brown County & surrounding" on here. Another in Tarrant says they'll travel 2 hours. Good luck.

Several large spots like that may mean he’s laying down, then getting back up. You might be bumping him

Yep but the big crack means broken bone. Back when I had dogs I would have loved this trail. My big ridgeback would be 100 percent on catching him.
