I'd like to have one if it was flush with the bottom of the stock but I don't think they come that way. When I hunt I tend to carry a rifle under the magazine.

I’m thinking I’m going to call and see about changing it to diamond. Mine will be primarily predator hunting. But I shoot from my reaper rest and tripod during the day. And a reaper rest mounted to custom built shooting chairs with tables. I like light triggers.

How significant an issue is the slippery-ness of plain carbon? My other carbon stock is dipped so I haven't experienced what the raw carbon is like. Will I be unhappy if I leave it plain?

Area 419 Hellfire vs Blended and timed Gill brakes.

Robert - Is there are 419 much more efficient? Is the portability of the are 419 the main advantage?

I also went with a tier 1 6mm creed
24" barrel 1:7.5 twist
Black cerakote
No muzzle brk
TT primary
Went with the mesquite/prickley pear colored camo scheme but more of an ambush type. I saw one in ghe shop and really like it and told them to match it.
Standard bdl bottom metal

The 419 is the most effective at recoil reduction. It also is the easiest to deal with when it comes to cleaning your rifle. It is easy to remove and replace.

I think that one you posted above has some gray in it. Just to be clear, this is the one we used the mesquite/pear colors on.

Sorry, yes Robert you are right. The one i posted i saw in the shop. The green looks to be the same shade. I emailed the pic i posted and want mine to match that. Sorry for the confusion. I liked the grayish color mixed in better than the light tan.

2019 APR Tier 1 build

300 RUM (I will be shooting heavy bullets, both handloads and factory ammo)

26” barrel

twist rate – 1-9

Area 419 Hellfire brake

stock color – carbon desert night

Cerakote color for action body and CF barrel tips – graphite black

Y'all feel free to tell me what I am missing before I pull the trigger... Lord knows I have debated with myself enough on this deal!

I'm running a Fiesol with an RRS leveling head. There are lighter options out there for sure, but I really like the stability of this set up.

I'll do a list of the top 5 cartridges and their percentage of the totals.

Side note - I'm working on some "BIG" stuff right now that might make next year's special very interesting. I said next year's will be a heavy build

Does the 419 tend to push gasses backward or create a lot of dust when shot prone?

I think they all want 7mm-08 in 20 inch but proof doesn’t make that length in a 7mm bore unless 5 or more are ordered. They’ve been trying to get 5 orders together.

Gotcha. I ordered a 22 in 7mm 08. I would have dropped to 20 if that would have helped complete the order .

Might still be able to change if you want. They have responded favorably when asked whether a quick change could be made after ordering.

Mine pushes horizontal and back. It still kicks up dust, I think they all will, its just physics

I just did my part and ordered a Tier 1 with a 20” 7mm-08 1 in 9 twist. Hopefully that gets us there. I was told I needed to 1 in 9 to match up with the group.

Looks like we have 5 in 7mm-08 with 20" barrels. Some people have ordered 1 in 8 twist and some 1 in 9, will all 5 have to be the same twist? If so what would be the preferred twist?

Can someone lay out the pro/cons to each twist ? I am hung right now on the 7mm08 or 65CM

I asked Robert about that in a previous post. This is the response I got from him.

It's more than you "need" for those bullets, but it will still work absolutely great. There are several benefits to running more than the minimum twist rate in most cases, especially for hunting. There is obviously a point where it can become "too much", but you aren't anywhere near that with 140s at 7-08 velocities. I would have absolutely chosen an 8 twist if I was building it for myself.

I ordered a 20” 7-08 with 1:9 twist. I don’t have a problem changing to 1:8 if that’s the consensus. My understanding is we have to have 5 with same twist.
