    Amarillo Eats??

Are there any neat local places in Amarillo to grab some grub? My dad and I will be in town for a Jeep event midweek and looking for cool spots for bfast and supper. Not interested in hitting that 72oz tourist trap called "Big Texan".

Youngblood's on 16th is our go to for breakfast. Hoffbrau steak house, on I-40 has good food and cold beer. We also like Walk-On's on Soncy Rd. They serve pretty good cajun fare for the panhandle of Texas. If you like chicken fried steak, try Green Chili Willie's on I-27 a little south of town.

There’s a specialty filtered water beverage place that we went to several years ago that was surprisingly good drinks. I’m not talking smoothies or health stuff but regular non alcoholic drinks. I’ll search the name. They were popping up all over the place when we were there

              HteaO is name of it.

For what it's worth, I did enjoy my steak the one time I went to the Big Texan.

Blue Sky for burgers and the like. Great chicken fried steak there as well.

Coyote Bluff is an Amarillo staple.

Good kind of depends on what you are looking for.

                      Nicer places:
                      OHMS
                      Macaroni Joes
                      Public House
                      Crush or baby crush
                      Drunken oyster
Cask and cork-sit on the patio if nice outside
                      Metropolitan

                      Burgers:
                      Blue sky
                      Coyote bluff

                      Breakfast:
                      Brunch at public house
                      Butter love biscuits
Burritos from lupitas(drive through on bell)
                      Cafe Garisol

Pondasetta is a pretty good brewery if you want some craft type beers. Bomb city vodka is a local distillery with a cool little bar.

                      Random stuff:
                      Fun noodle bar
                      Ichiban
Sod poodles baseball if in town
                      Joe taco across from ballpark
Peel and eat shrimp at lazy gator
Scott’s oyster bar-local dive place with good fried seafood
Lots of food truck type places on Amarillo Blvd if you get adventurous

                            575 for the win.

Not a fan of Hoffbraus. Mediocre at best. Green Chile Willies is pretty decent. Joe Tacos is good.

Only place I can remember eating when we lived up there was Scott’s Oyster Bar. Not even sure if that place is still open.
