Years ago there was a Mikeskas somewhere on hwy 59 around El Campo. Don't remember exactly where, everyone ramped and raved about it. Stopped in and enjoyed what seemed like a dry roast with pinto beans.
Left and never went back ......
Heinz on 59 near Wharton was ok before it shutdown....
Heinz’s on 59 burned down & they have a new location in town.
Mikeska's in El Campo without a doubt has to be the WORST "bbq" I have ever had. The only thing that was worth eating on my plate was the slice of Mrs. Baird's bread they serve with it.
1. Bill millers
2. mikeskas
3. not really a bbq rest., but i stopped at "el parador" on hwy35 south of san antone.. the sign said "texas bbg" i gambled and got a sliced beef sand ... i threw it out he window. (minus the wrapper, of course) horrid.
Moved to San Antonio in 2010. Asked some friends where a good place to get BBQ was and they sent me there. Fast food BBQ, absolute trash. Can't believe it even passes for BBQ in this city.
