Default Lost a dog yesterday

I got home yesterday evening and found my female Great Pyrenees dead by the barn. Had her spayed a week ago. About 6 years old. She was a great guardian dog for our place.
She had some blood dripping from her nose. I found no signs of wounds, or any physical reason for her death. Seems kinda suspicious. Almost think that a neighbor may have poisoned her, but have no proof of it. Rip Pearl….
We have one puppy left from her that is right at 5 months old. Hopefully she will be a good replacement for her Mama.

Sorry about your dog.
Take her back to the vet or call them. Might have caused by being fixed. She could do a blood test for Poison.

My wife called the vet and discussed that possibility. The vet said it could have possibly been from a blood clot, but after a week, it seemed unlikely.

Sorry to hear that. We lost a pup 8 months old about 8 days after getting her spayed.

She went septic. The vet that did the spaying obviously sucked.

Our dog was not acting like her old self after she got the surgery. really lethargic.

Could she have got hit by a car? She may have had internal injuries and made it back to the barn and laid down and died?

So sorry to hear of your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a good dog. I’m still missing my dachshund who passed in June, the house is so quiet.
Prayers Sent

Do you have horses?
First thought I had was a horse kick. Head or chest/punctured lung.

No horses. Just chickens. We’ve had her a little over two years. Not sure her her pup is gonna do without her Mama here to teach her.
