Is there a good vehicle code reader for under 100

Never owned one so don’t know if $30 is fine or 130 is better

If you are only wanting to read and clear codes. The cheap ones will do just that.

I’ve been happy with the bluedriver scanner. Gives a little more insight on fixes and will also give more in depth info for diagnostics, But also agree if you just want to know the code there are cheaper options

I have a $20 reader from the WalMarts. Gives me all the codes the computer is sending. Google tells me wha they mean, YouTube tells me if I can fix it or to call the mechanic.

If it's for a Ford, download the free Forscan app and buy a ODB2 cable adapter from Amazon for $60.

I bought a $25 motopower a couple weeks ago. It told me #2 cylinder misfire. Changed the coil, and all was good. Strong buy in my opinion.

That’s the answer right there. I bought a $30 code reader at AutoZone years ago.

Google the P code and the model/ year of the vehicle.

the cheap ones are fine. My Actron was maybe $20-30 ? and it has helped me solve a myriad of problems on my vehicles....along with YouTube.
