    Delay the election

100% correct. A major pillar of our democracy is being called into question. These mail in ballots are a mess and can be manipulated by either party. I understand why we have them, but they are way too vulnerable. Heck I don’t really trust the machines either.

OP, I found this podcast QA with Will Hurd quite interesting. It speaks a bit to the point you made about distancing. I do realize the demographics of Hurd's district likely play into his response. Interesting none the less.

GD: Well, you previously said that you will vote for Trump this fall. So I’m just wondering if you’re hesitant a little bit now?

      WH: I think that’s accurate.

GD: President Trump suggested delaying the presidential election, which Congress has the power to do, your branch of government. Do you support delaying the election?

WH: We are not an authoritarian government where the head of state gets to decide on a whim when an election happens. So no, this is Congress’s role, as you said. It should go forward as has been established. And ultimately, look, I’m of the opinion that we should be increasing the ways for people to vote, right, the more people that vote, the better off it is. And this is something that I’ve been able to prove, during my time in Congress, that if you take a message to more people, you can get it to resonate with more people and we shouldn’t be afraid.

So the party that brought us Obamacare, DACA, the Iran Nuclear treaty, and the Trump Impeachment among a host of other things, is now suddenly worried about the constitution? Both parties have twisted, pulled, stretched, and ignored the constitution anytime it suits them but THIS is what they all line up over.
I don't think he's serious simply because I'm pretty sure he knows that he can't do it but in my opinion he's definitely showing everyone that can read how wide the swamp is in Washington.

No, but you can **** well bet they learned a LOT from it, tactics wise... they won't make the same mistakes twice. The 2018 mid term was a dry run for implementation in 2020.

              Bingo.
Trump is the only one who can control the media's narrative and get them off point.

So no matter who wins, the results will be accepted?

His republican allies as you call them are not the ones who's going to put him back in, we are.

I think it is brilliant, troll the dems, get your message out when the media won't cover it and do what Obama did....that's right...in 2012 Obama was going to delay the election "because of a storm". Oh the outrage. lol

Safe to buy whatever you want and wait in line at Walmart or Home Depot. Heck you can gamble at a casino, but you can’t go to church or vote.... but there’s no agenda behind this, it’s all about keeping you safe

The realistic me thinks he is trolling and getting discussion out there about mail in ballots to try to combat the democratic absurdity. This is the absolute minimum he is doing, especially with the question marks.

The hopeful me thinks he is laying the groundwork. The election will happen on November 3 no matter what per the dems after that tweet. No question about that now. Now what happens when he or Barr drops a bombshell on Halloween; for example about Biden and the Ukraine (aren't they investigating Biden?). All of a sudden the dems have no candidate that isn't in jail or proven to be completely corrupt but per the dems the election CAN'T be delayed now....It is the same thing he did with the China virus setting up the states, governors, etc. Now everything is THEIR decision as he played them. Please sweet baby Jesus let this be true.

That’s an interesting take. Seal them into a position that makes hard for them to back out of.

But arguing that moving voting to Walmart, Home Depot etc that already have substantial gatherings is as effective and poses no threat to the constitution.
