I have never fished Conroe but I agree with Bryan. Rayburn is a easy lake to fish and hold lots of crappie

I appreciate it. Rayburn is definitely on the list. Dont have much free time so the longer drive is a factor, but its pointless to go where they arent! Thinking Lake Limestone too. Never been there but its a bit closer.

Was informed we can post pics but not details or get any information! Kinda sucks to be at a lake for a week with great crappie fishermen and not talk about crappie fishing but I will fill y'all in later! Sadly this is my best crappie in 2 days. Sounds like several folks haven't boated a keeper crappie in 2 days!

Jamming some GNR and having our hooray prefishjng is over cold beer!! Gonna need some luck fishing and in the draw tonight for blast off spots. Gonna take a while for 100 boats to go through check out And get gone. Early numbers will have an hour head start on the last ones. Later ones get to fish longer though. Gonna be cool. Fishing is the hardest I've ever seen anywhere I've been! That said somebody is gonna hammer em!! Always do.

I was putting up stuff in the boat and clay weighted them in! Thy even had him take a pic with my 1.75 black crappie. Tough tough day. My fish moved. Peobsbly got pounded all week. Regroup and back at em tomorrow. We're tied for 12th. Made the cut for fishing tomorrow. Switching it all up tomorrow. Saved an area. Gonna be heros or zeros but I wanna fish day 3!!

Poured down rain most of the day. Hid under a dock for 1.5 hours watching lightning pop. Draw will hurt us both days. Half the field has a head start on us both days. Would rather been first or last! Would have got to fish early one day but thats how he dice roll! Go sack em up tomorrow and fish Sunday is our goal!!

Looks like only 14 boats start ahead of you assuming the #s don't change.

Can't believe only 40 of 100 weighed fish!

Coulda found that 7th fish!!!

Beautiful lake! Brutally tough crappie fishing! We can't use any live bait. They will come out and look and a jig and swim off 99 times out of 100! Some teams prefished 5 days and never caught a crappie! I couldn't imagine! Took me 5 hours to catch my first one here and I was mad as heck!!

Was tournament location more about the convention center or the quality of the fishing? No idea at all about the area. I did read they have sports betting now!

Wally wanted a challenging lake with a good atmosphere for family stuff! Hot springs is awesome and he knocked it out of the park with the challenging lake part!!

1/2 mile to go from the launch! This is less than half of what launched yesterday'! Pattern 2 today. Hope they stayed put!!!

Just now getting settled in. About to hop in the shower and sleep in tomorrow till 5 and go try again. Only 4 teams brought 7 crappie to the scales. We were one of them. Everything has been beat to death. You can't hide good stuff from 100 great teams on a 7k acre lake. Despite being a tough lake I've learned a ton here that will help me going forward!

Went out for a couple of hours this afternoon. Put 25 slabs on ice. 15 foot of water about a foot off the bottom. Really aggressive bite . About half on a 1/8 oz Nekid tackle hand tied gray and the other half on a yellow and purple bumblebee looking jig.
