now that I own 2 kayaks, one single and one tandem, i need a way to transport. I had planned on building a little 4x8 trailer. decided against it as I didnt want to deal with another trailer. the tags, the tires, wires, where to store it. So, I bought a bed extender, then modified it to carry 2 yaks. The "goal post" will slide in and out and able to completely remove if needed. width is adjustable. (yes, there are pins to hold in place!)
one yak will lay in the bottom of the truck bed. The other will rest on the toolbox. the top kayak will have a piece of carpet between the yak and toolbox. Dont want the diamond plate rubbin a hole in the plastic. And, Ill have to tie the boat where it wont slide thru the back glass! Ill run straps from the back of the yak, to the back of the truck. Then, pull the front of the kayak towards the front. Aint tried it out yet, but I hope to soon!
