Its sounding like an 11 team Big 12 next year since BYU in currently independent, the other 3 AAC schools won't be allowed to leave their conference until 2023 at earliest and depending on what the Big 12 wants to do with the OUT exit, conference could even be 14 team conference in 2023.

Grant of rights runs through 2024-2025 season, unless they pay the 70+ million per team exit fee to B12 and decide to play a few season with the Big 12 still owning their media rights. Big 12 didn't fold so they can do with the 2 leaving as they wish, if you wonder why Finebaum is grumpy lately this is why.

Sure seems like UT & OU will find a way to pay the exit fee?? Doesn't make sense to wait around?? I have to believe ESPN and new SEC dollars will help make that less painful?? There has to be a plan that they aren't sharing with the public yet???

Aggie gonna end up paying Jimbo $20 mil a year before this is over.

I think he has already shown he can put together a better staff and coach a team better from top to bottom and that's without even being on the job for a year. lol

Every wrinkle will get ironed out. The soonest we are likely to know what 2023 holds will be January.

Houston, UCF, and Cincinnati are currently part of the American Athletic Conference and would need to give the AAC 27 months notice and then each pay an exit fee of $10 million to join the Big 12.

OU and Texas will pay the exit fee and the Big 12 will relinquish their TV rights in time to make the move for the 2022 season. The Big 12 doesn't want to litigate the grant of rights and neither will the individual members.

The OUT exit doesn’t happen until the the new teams come in or maybe a year after, is OUT going to pay for the AAC exit fees too so they can leave early. Aggie knew what they were doing letting the SEC move out early, it was either going to kill it or cause additional financial hardship on UT.

The timetable for OU and Texas isn't bound to when other teams are moving in.

I'm assuming OUT is OU Texas? Some cute message board fodder from a Tech site?
