      As mentioned above...whitetail

      Here in New Braunfels, I've seen fawns born from April to December. We have several running around right now that are much smaller than the one you posted.

        I have one that was born Oct 2, still has spots. That fawn is bigger and older(born earlier) but holding spots better. I've seen em hold spots into spring shedding time.

                  As stated above a WT and a walking example of why shooting spikes to improve your genetics is a mistake.

                    Not to hijack, but on December 27th I walked up on a WT fawn that was no more than a few hours old.... still wobbly legged. Momma was blowing like crazy at me. He started following me so I picked up the pace. When I came back thru 30 minutes later he was gone. ( or I didn't see it )
