Default TPWD Draw Hunts

If I am entering my grandson in some of the youth hunts do I create an account for him? I know itís a dumb question but just want to make sure I do it right. He has never been entered in any of the hunts before. Thank you in advance.

Not a dumb question. The 1st time you apply I believe it ask for all the info. I don’t remember setting up their own accounts. When you apply for their hunts you will have to be on the application also.

If he has ever bought a hunting license then he already has an account.

I donít believe an account is needed for anybody. When you apply, for the first time, it will ask for all the info including the SS number. After that, every time you apply, just put in the SS number and all the info is already there. At least thatís how I do it.

Yes he has a hunting license, but has never entered any draw hunts, so I guess I will have to apply in his name and will list my husband as his accompanying adult.

Also look into Texas Youth Hunting Program. He will need to have his hunters education completed to be selected. Itís a great program.

If he has had a hunting license he should be in the system. If you still have his license it will have his TPWD customer number on it. Also, I strongly second the TYHP recommendation, fantastic program. Tyhp.org. If you have any questions about TYHP would be happy to help.

I have a bunch of leftover loyalty points in all the youth categories from years ago. Does anyone know if they would apply to any applications Iím listed as the supervising adult on?

Don't think so.

My son had 4 for youth gator. When I applied this year he had zero. He turned 18 in December

Yes, but I don't know how hackers work. Could they just be monitoring what is being typed without having entry into the data-base?

Because he's applying as a adult not a youth anymore his youth points are still there but he is starting fresh on the adult side

This, your not supposed to create other peoples accounts its a felony

Under Penal Code section 32.51, it is a state jail felony to use identifying information of another person

When you go to apply for the youth hunt use your husband's name first and then add the youth as another applicant. This way all the information and permit will be sent to your husband's email account not your sons. I've entered many youth hunt drawings for me and my grandson. Good luck and enter them all!! It's free

Yep!!!
My brother did it years ago with his boy. Think he was 5 and my brother wanted to get a couple points under his belt. Ended up drawing a hunt and just called and canceled. Once he got of age, he drew a few more hunts before turning 16.

Thank you! He has harvested a few deer, but has never been on a draw hunt. I think he would really enjoy it. As my husband is looking forward to taking him. Hopefully he will draw on one. We will wait and see!
