Take a dead rabbit or piece of one and hang it up about 4 ft off the ground and put a number two ft trap directly under it in the dirt.

Have you tried Sardines in your trap?

What are you calling a #2 FT trap?

We use Golden Marin fly bait in the horse barn

I blame a poorly built pen......just saying. If the cat absolutely has to go, a high powered pellet gun or sub sonic .22 will do the trick.

The cats a killers and probably taking care of tons of rats and mice, squirrels etc. I’d let it be.
Barn cats number over 20 at present. Never seen a dead carcass on the place. I am not convinced that they will eat enough to kill them if ANYTHING else is available. Just my observations over 19 years battling flies at the barn. I could see the salmon strips working. Trapping is a skill. Not as easy as it is made out to be, especially when the target animal is nocturnal and wary. Good luck!!

Modern antifreeze is very bitter to discourage swallowing. The old mixture WAS deadly!

Hang a snare where it made entry in to the rabbit pen.

Thinking I may have to use a foot snare!!! Any recommendations on brand and size?

A thin cat snare you can get at most feed stores. I wouldn’t mess with a foot snare. A steel trap would be your best option but you need to know what your doing to set properly. Honestly, bobcats are probably the easiest thing to catch next to a coon or opossum. Hang a couple snares where you know he’s traveling. Small loop about the size of your open hand. About 4 to 6 inches off the ground. Cats don’t shy away to bad. He will walk right into it.

Do not catch it like the vet did a couple years ago, if you do don’t post it on FB.
