Is Purple Heart a strong enough wood for a bow riser or should I add an I beam?

I would imagine there are a lot of variables such as length and width etc

very dense heavy wood..kinda brittle but for a riser should be ok...doubt it stays purple ,darkens with uv like osage

I think it depends on the weight of the bow. Under 50 lbs? probably just fine. Over? It's a little brittle.

Note that I'm not a bowyer, but have worked with purple heart.
