Iím all set in the same tent blind at the old homestead. Hope to get a better look of the buck from yesterday. I was tempted to shoot him but he didnít stop in my shooting lane. He has broke G2 and is/was a 9 point.

Just caught up. I always enjoy this hunt, but I must have missed the back story of how it started. Good luck, and let's hear that story

Sounds like the buck left tailing a doe.

Nothing to report at my stand but a few wood ducks.

Weather looks like it's going to be frigid later in the week.

Service is spotty here. Had young 8 trailing a doe earlier. Nothing now but drizzling rain.

About 30 turkeys have flown down out of the roost and are moving up the ridge away from me to the SW. I can hear another deer in the distance blowing to my SE but itís a long ways away

We came in out of the rain to get a sandwich and hot bowl of chicken & dumplin's. We pulled game cam cards from other stands since it was raining and:

All set in the river bottom close to where I killed my deer last year. Walking in saw 5 deer and drew on a doe but she was too young. Saw a decent buck.

Here's a pic of the corn field from my stand

Heard a buck chasing a doe through the swamp behind me about 20 minutes ago. He was grunting up a storm and running her through the water. Saw the top of his rack a couple times as they bounded through the tall grass, but never got a real good look at him

Iím back down by the river again this morning where I saw the buck tending the doe yesterday...things kicked into high gear immediately as a huge bodied buck came in looking for a fight. I walked in with no lights on and eases my way to the base of my tree stand when all of the sudden I hear something moving right in front of me! Immediately I can see itís a deer so I throw my binocs up and itís a toad of a buck!
