Good luck to everyone out this weekend!
I made a 2 day trip this week and had little to 0 movement. All my pictures on my camera was at nighttime. Tue evening I put out a ton of corn for my evening sit and had 0 left when I hunted Wed morning. My grandpa ( Step Granpa never hunted till 3 years ago) was able to kill his first buck a long horn spike we have been after. We left before the storms hit.

My 9 year old shot his first deer this morning. Made a perfect shot with his Crossbow at 15 yards. Super proud of him!

I will be at the state park in San Angelo next week on a doe-spike hunt, we can also shoot Axis and Javelina, any chance of seeing an Axis or javelina at the state park?

Maybe but I doubt it. Don't figure they'd put it on the shootables list if they hadn't seen at least one out there.

Thanks guys, he was super excited. Now it's time to find him a buck.

Another toad of a management buck was killed this weekend by one of the members 8 month pregnant wife! Movement was good, things are starting to get going.

Was still super slow in irion this weekend. Not much of any prerut activity. No new deer at feeders in the last week. I even made a road corn setup and still only a handful of young bucks.

Same here for us in NW Schleicher county last weekend. Lots of dink bucks are trying to chase but the few mature bucks we saw showed no interest in the does. These deer sure arenít hungry right now as feeder activity is slow. Saw decent numbers but many just skirting the pens without even hitting feeders.

Got my feeder pen that the cows put a beating on replaced. Activity was relatively slow this weekend. Saw lots of young bucks and a pretty tall 8 that weíve been watching for a few years. Just not good enough to shoot this early. Managed to shoot a doe Sunday morning before the feeder pen work. Gonna be back down this weekend for about a week hoping to see some rutting activity. November 13th seems to be our magic date.

Thanks man. I got the panels at Jacobyís in Melvin. I splurged on them for my other pen back in July and really fell in love with them. Easy to set up and look really good. The cows made me buy a 2nd pen sooner than I anticipated.

Good luck to you too this weekend!

Heck of a sika. Congrats on the kill.

Heading to the lease again Thursday evening. Hoping to get the wife on a management deer that has been very unpredictable thus far. Maybe the cooler weather will help him slip up one time.

Here he is last year.

Saw some new bucks, but had the same thing happen, multiple times deer came out, walked with in 5 foot of the pen and didn't look twice.

However movement was good most mornings especially after the cold spell on Friday.

Looks like it will be close to freezing temps this week, maybe they will start hitting the feeders then.

On the Angelo side. NEVER seen anything exotic before until these Fallow. Just heard from my son (also TBH) his wife shot a big buck. They are looking for it...shot from my blind as I'm home taking care of my wife who recently had hip replacement surgery. Will post pics....
