A good thing for our place is it is way down a private road that's got a solid steel gate. Most tweekers aren't walking that far. We go all the time. Mid week and weekends. However the sandy soil we have makes for easy earth moving as well.

Oh we have already talked to police, sheriff, and game warden. They are grown men. My hunting buddy caught them back out there.

Isn't it a great feeling to have some dirt with your name on it?

Do you have a feeder running yet? I would advise if you want to get serious about deer, build an exclusion pen. Hogs have been really thick last couple of seasons!

Boy that is no joke. Every time we get rid of a sounder we get 2 more in their place.

Just the nature of the area, the hogs thrive there, there are a few deer but they have never really taken off like some areas of the state, some blame it on the hogs but it was no different back in the day when there were no hogs here.

You can get an adequate tractor and brush hog reasonable used. The mowing and spraying of brush will make a big difference in how the animals use it. Consider wind, stand position, entry and exit strategy and food plot placement before you mow.

Hey I'm not saying we don't have deer. We have lots of deer. We aren't going to grow any booners but we have some that are decent. Here is a 3yr old I passed a few times hoping he would get older. My neighbor shot him saying he was older.

The antler restrictions have definitely helped but I've not seen the impact in that area like I have in the east side of the county and other parts...
