Why not skin it and quarter it? Then put it on ice in the cooler?

Ok to stuff the body cavity with ice and leave it wrapped in a tarp in the truck overnight? 48 now dropping to 38 overnight. Will be at the processor when they open at 8:00am.
I wouldn’t hesitate with a deer but I hear pork spoils easier?
Thanks y’all.

Gutted and stuffed with ice, in this weather, IMO it should be fine. Last hog I shot was a sow, and the meat was delicious. Best way to test if it is good meat is to cut some of the fat off and fry it. If it smells and tastes like bacon it is good. Shot a big boar once that tasted too wild to eat.
