First was great numbers. Second weekend was good. I was still able to get my limit all 4 days, but it was tough shooting even though we were hunting 80 acres of sunflower seeds by the river the second weekend. We’ve had a couple of storms that have really pushed the birds.

Hunted the Whitewing season in 3 Rivers last weekend. Saw plenty of mourning doves. Not so many Whitewing.

.

They moved it up a week this year. Its usually the third weekend in September.. Like 19th-22nd area. I'm assuming because of that they opened on Sat instead of giving us the extra weekend day.

It ended up being a pretty good weekend. For the most part everyone got their limit!! Brayden(10 years old) even got his first 2 bird's (while in flight) and he had never even shot a shotgun before. The morning hunt was decent but the bird's really started to fly in the evenings. Over all it was a great time, with good people and even better food! Hope everyone else had a great South Texas Opener!!

Crystal city was slow but we got our limit. Eagle pass was better but had a lot of ringnecks and pigeons.

It was just so dry down there. I have never seen the back tank completely dried up,and the front tank had very little water in it.
