Yes, I used concrete with hog panel. I dug down about 8 inches.

Fire pit pics

Finally got to start on the fire pit today. I didn't take pics early on, so sorry, you're not going to get the step by step pics. Hopefully I'll finish up with the capstones tomorrow. I can tell you after doing this, that I'm not a mason, and I don't ever want to be. The second layer of fire brick and the capstones are not set. I wanted to make sure everything was cut and fit before I started that. The rest of the rock and the first layer are done though.
