If one less innocent person dies because of a drunk driver or one less spouse or child gets abused from a drunk coming home from a bar then this may be the best unintended consequence of covid.

This. All of this. Primary his pansy ***. He’s got presidential aspirations, well to hell with that. He’s done!

By George, you’re right! We should just leave bars closed....

Meanwhile, I’m in liberal Chicago, Cook County and I’m about to head to a bar for appetizers and beer

they should just wait until the property tax bill comes in and just send in a % of what their business was able to make....

And what do you say to those bar OWNERS!? Have you forgotten that all bars are owned by someone. Someone trying to make a living just like you and I. Someone with a family to support.

So if all of these former bars are now eateries that also have cocktails, can we carry there legally now?

                Possibly an unintended positive consequence?!

I am glad businesses are doing this, but it's just a freaking joke. And what about bars that have no kitchens? I know the argument is get a food truck. But how are they supposed to hire a food truck when they got no $$$ coming in the first place?

Abbott is running for President in 2024. He has made the coastal elites proud, and that's all he needs. We won't need to worry about him after 2022. When will these idiots realize an R has not won Cali or New York for decades?!

I think this is trolling, but how would one explain the significant uptick in domestic abuse cases since Abbott shut down all the bars? Or the increased divorce rate?

BS in my opinion. Here in Austin, Draughthouse requires an order of fries be purchased with every pint. Pints are happy hour prices and pint+fries is about what a normal pint costs. Nobody wants the fries. So, they just stack up on the counter. Oasis Brewery will sell you a to go beer with a lid which you open and just drink like regular. Date night on Wednesday was dinner at Perla's followed by drinks at Little Darlings where food purchase was encouraged but not required. The only places that arent open are the ones that couldnt adapt or willing to blur the rules. If elementary schools can open then so can bars. Abbot, Adler, etc need to stop picking winners and losers in this.

Hope that you’re just trolling here...

I absolutely hate the “if it saves one innocent person/child” argument. Slippery slope.

Replace drunk driver with firearm in your post and you have the long standing anti 2A argument

Many are finding ways around it. And, I am glad they are for many reasons. The government should not be in the business of deciding what businesses survive and don’t survive. If people do not feel safe in a bar. Don’t go. That simple.
